Exhibitions by our Group Lent exhibition - 1997 Our first exhibition was held in September 1997 at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel church in Xlendi on the occasion of the feast of the Holy Cross. On this occasion, the new flag and also logo of the society, designed by Mr. Frank Cassar, was blessed and inaugurated.
Lent exhibition - 1998 In 1998, the exhibition was held at the Exhibition Hall of the Parliamentary Secretatiat for Gozo. This was the first religious art exhibition held during the Lenten days in the island of Gozo. During this exhibition a live size statue of our Lady of Sorrow was inaugurated. It was the work of the Gozitan artist Joe Cutajar Zahra. Today this statute forms part of the Gozo Hospital Chapel.
Lent exhibition - 1999 The 1999 Lent exhibition, which now became a yearly event not only for the society but also in the Island of Gozo's calendar was held at the Ministry for Gozo. It was inaugurated by the Minister Giovanna Debono in the presence of Minister Tonio Borg. An interesting exhibit in this year's exhibition was the model of the place where the last supper of our lord was held. This was hand made by Mr. Charles Camilleri from Nadur.
Lent exhibition - 2000 In the year 2000, during the Lent Exhibition, besides the artistic exhibits, one could admire a number of costumes, which our society used during the various passion plays produced in the previous years.
Lent exhibition - 2001 For the 2001 Lent exhibition, the society inaugurated the new exhibition equipment. This equipment was designed by Mr. Frank Cassar.
Lent exhibition - 2002 As in previous years, the 2002 exhibition was inaugurated by the Minister for Gozo, Hon. Giovanna Debono. During the exhibition days, one could admire a live size statute of Christ during the last supper. This statute was the work of the gozitan artist Paul Aquilina and was on loan from St. Francis Church.
Lent exhibition - 2003 The Backdrop of the 2003 Lent exhibition was the 'Altar of Repose', usually used during the Holy week in Sabina Church Victoria. This was exhibited curtasy of the Rev. Rector of the said church.
Lent exhibition - 2004 The 2004 Lent exhibition saw the birth of a new ambitious project which revealed to be a success. This was the Easter Festival, a program spread over a month prior the Lent and Easter religious activities in the Maltese Islands. During this first edition of the festival, inaugurated by Mr. Tony Borg on behalf of the Hon. Giovanna Debono, Minister for Gozo, a passion play production, choral sacred concerts and a traditional Holy Week meal in a biblical environment where held, apart the traditional exhibition. Interesting exhibits in this year's edition was a statute of the Risen Christ made by an unknown artist dated around three hundred years ago. This statute was on loan from St. George's Basilica of Victoria. Another interesting exhibit was a bust of Our Lady of Sorrows which was on loan from the Basilica of Ta' Pinu. Other newly exhibits were the models of the Via Crucis made by Mr. Frank Cassar for a church in Australia.
